The phrase “Burn the house down” metaphorically represents the need to dismantle corrupt systems and institutions that hinder progress and equality. Through their music, AJR aims to ignite a spark within listeners to actively engage in making their voices heard and bringing about positive change in society. With its catchy chorus and energetic sound, “Burn the House Down” also serves as an anthem for empowerment and self-belief.

Over the course of eight episodes, her investigations pull her into a thorny trail of social media and internet intrigue, as she stirs up secrets from the past and forges surprising bonds. Kiichi was the most promising of the two brothers in their childhood. Anzu vividly remembers him as a kind teenager who loved astronomy.

Anzu grew up believing Makiko caused the fire because she was envious of her mother’s affluent life and wanted to replace her as Osamu’s spouse. 13 years later, Anzu infiltrates the Mitarai home hoping to prove that Makiko was responsible for the fire. Here is everything you might want to know about the ending of ‘Burn the House Down.’ SPOILERS AHEAD. After her mother took the blame for a tragic fire 13 years ago, Anzu plots revenge by working as a housekeeper under a pseudonym for her icy stepmother. The third verse also goes on to imply that this frustration is not only of the political variety but also having to do with AJR’s experiences in the music industry.

Why Did Kiichi Become a Shut-in?

In episode 6, Anzu finally confronts Makiko in the presence of both their families, and in episode 7, she even earns the confession from the other woman that she started the fire. And by the time all is said and done, taking the bridge into consideration for instance, that’s the message behind this song. The lyrics don’t direct the listener to the cause he or she should be fighting for or against. AJR’s discography consists of several songs with similar themes of empowerment and societal reflection. ” and “100 Bad Days” share the same vein of thought-provoking messages and infectious sound that resonate with listeners.

The two of them now live in the same house, which has been restored. High school had left him feeling isolated, and he wanted to make it up for it in college. However, he was at the medical school only for eight weeks before all his information got doxxed, and rumors started to spread that he got in through donations.

It is revealed that after Makiko married Osamu, she visited Kiichi’s friends to give them money so they would stay away from her son, as she believed he needed better friends. They didn’t accept it, but they were so angry with Kiichi and his mother that they didn’t intervene when a bully stole Kiichi’s money. However, by then, the series has given certain hints to the viewers that indicate that Kiichi might have been the one who caused the fire. There is also the fact that he became a shut-in, and his mother seems to be highly protective of him.

All things considered, this would not be a physical attack but one in which, in ‘burning the whole house down’, protestors fearlessly confront the powers that be with the goal of changing the system. Furthermore he’s also insecure, believing that his contribution to the cause, in the form of a song, would ultimately be rejected. The 10 Trendiest Architectural and Interior Design Styles of 2023

style design

Frequently compared to minimalism, the flat style uses uncomplicated designs within a greater negative space. Its color palette tends to be more subdued and its imagery is anchored by illustrations, iconography, and pictograms. You can bet you’ll find that philosophy utilized in our last pick for types of house décor styles. They focus on sleek lines, interesting shapes, and a relaxing atmosphere.

The Principle of Hierarchy in Graphic Design

Its emphasis on the harmony of art and technology laid the groundwork for the digital age, where the blending of artistic expression and technological innovation has become more seamless. While design eras have all experienced their own renaissance, their usage and influence often cut across time. Here are a few of our favorite design movements and how to use them on websites, mobile apps, and brand guidelines. In addition to arches and columns, another architectural element commonly found in Mediterranean interiors is the use of decorative tiles and mosaics. Intricately patterned ceramic or terracotta tiles can be seen on floors, walls, and even staircases, adding a touch of traditional charm and visual interest.

Most Dramatic Lighting: Nilufar Gallery

Festivals such as Coachella, Stagecoach, and Lollapalooza have spawned their own fashion styles. Many festival-goers and in particular celebrities are known to be photographed in risque outfits that show lots of skin. Add a bikini top to a pair of cut-off shorts and natural flowing hair and you are ready to go. Other common things about this style are flower patterns, folk or ethnic elements, unconventional textures and prints, and flowy fabrics.

Different Types of Fashion Styles

Furniture and accessories tend to be clean-lined and geared towards living near the bottom of the room. Where the home uses elements that appear old with a lot of wear and tear but are highly functional. Sometimes, new items are distressed to give the appearance of an antique. Victorian design tends to be symmetrical, and its typography quirky, with swirling, serif-laden letters that lend an eccentricity to the style. Colours are typically muted because of the lack of brightly-coloured ink.

Carine Roitfeld teamed up with Berluti to sprinkle some fashion fairy dust on the designs. Milan may have been overflowing with crisp design, stylish designers, and creative installations during Milano Design Week recently. But I’m pretty sure no other installation got more attention, or was harder to pull off than what Azimut Yachts achieved when they moored a 57-foot-long Azimut Seadeck 6 in the swimming pool of the Bagni Misteriosi.

style design

Blame it on Joanna Gaines—no list of top décor styles is complete without a nod to modern farmhouse. Incorporating rustic elements in a fresh and airy way, this look has become all the rage for its home-y, welcoming vibe...and for its nod to a simpler lifestyle. Embracing the grit and urban grime that was endemic to the 90s grunge scene, this style embraces the use of many critically avoided approaches in design. Uneven lines, crooked elements, dirty stains, badly hand-written text and very grainy or torn photographs all play their part in conveying the tone of grunge style. A strong ethos of DIY and anti-establishment attitude permeates all aspects of punk design. The rawness of this form of design came from the culture in which it originated in the late 1970s punk music movement.

That is why the style leaves tons of shared, common areas all-around a house. Go for this interior design style if your focus is on strengthening interpersonal bonds- if you are a highly social person. Contemporary interior design is a type of interior design style which refers to trends that are ruling now- at this very moment.

During the early 21st century, a significant shift occurred in the digital design world, giving rise to the emergence of flat design. This design movement directly responded to the prevailing skeuomorphic design trends that had dominated user interfaces for years. The skeuomorphic technique incorporates realistic textures, shadows, and gradients to mimic real-world objects, often to provide familiarity to users. However, as technology evolved and user expectations changed, a need for a more streamlined and user-friendly approach to design became apparent.

Minimalist Interior Design Style

Originated in France, the Garconne style is modern and elegant but simple and has an androgynous silhouette. All you have to do is put your jeans on and pair them with a t-shirt or loose-fitting blouse and shiny loafers. You may also combine any rugged menswear that you have with feminine pieces. Ethnic is a non-specific style since it includes pieces of clothing and accessories that represent a certain culture. Some of the most popular ones are tunics, Afghan coats, Mexican peasant tops, kaftans, and Japanese kimonos.

Its clean and simple elements make it truly adaptable for various projects and companies. You may see this type of design style combined with elegant, corporate, and feminine design styles. Being able to readily identify each interior design style is more than just a clever party trick—it can also help you define your own personal style and seek out more of what you gravitate toward. It can also give you permission to mix and match depending on your intuition and sensibilities, and throw those labels to the wind—if that's what your personal style demands.

Colours are kept to a minimum in Art Nouveau because printing was expensive in the early 1900s, so designs tended to use a single colour (commonly black) with subtle shading, as with the left example shown above. You can use our colour wheel charts to help select a palette for psychedelic designs (or any other design, for that matter). If you’d like to learn about contemporary fonts for your branding, check out our article on the best fonts for websites.

Design styles can represent values, so when you use them for your own business, the values are adopted by your branding, and you can attract the kinds of people you want to attract more easily. You’ll also have a consistent and recognisable brand image that people quickly become familiar with. In this era, designers wholeheartedly embraced the concept of “high” and “low” culture, integrating elements from popular culture, mass media, and subcultures into their work.

She dismantles Makiko’s social media celebrityhood by revealing that she was lying about the cooking. Anzu is not just the protagonist of the series, she is also the narrator. The main problem with this is that she approaches her pursuit of truth in a fundamentally erroneous way. Remembering the smile Makiko had on her face while their house burned, Anzo concludes that she must be responsible for the fire and tries to find proof that can support that hypothesis.

He fled and never told anyone what happened, but Kiichi, having figured it out, took the blame to protect him. With the extent of Makiko’s deception now exposed, her husband Osamu’s reputation is in tatters. He blames his wife and her sons for everything, proving once again that his own and his hospital’s public standing is more important to him than anything else. Across the show’s eight episodes, many developments follow, with Anzu conducting a personal investigation into the circumstances of the fire, which she’s convinced Makiko had a hand in. The events come to a head in the eighth and final episode, so let’s unpack the who’s, what’s, why’s, when’s and how’s of the show’s most essential mysteries. Burn the House Down is a Japanese Netflix drama focusing on a very common theme – revenge.

Genius is the world’s biggest collection of song lyrics and musical knowledge

Osamu and Satsuki divorce after this, with the latter moving away with their two daughters. After Osamu marries Makiko, she moves in with her two sons, Kiichi (Asuka Kudo) and Shinji (Taishi Nakagawa). Follows Anzu Murata, who thirteen years after the home of the wealthy Mitarai family was burned in an fire, infiltrates the house of the Mitarais as a housekeeper in order to reclaim the hou...

Anzu Mitarai’s first day at her new job — working undercover as a house cleaner — is immediately haunted by more than déjà vu. The mansion she’s hired to clean is full of her own memories of living in the house that once stood on this same lot. That is, until a fateful night 13 years ago — when Anzu was just a girl, standing under a blazing orange sky watching her home go up in flames. She can’t erase the image of her mother collapsing to the ground, apologizing to her and her father, and how, right after, she caught sight of a woman in the crowd of onlookers, smiling. “Burn the House Down” is meant to speak to the political power of AJR’s generation. As explained by Ryan Met, in this day and age, “regular people have so much power”.

It reflects the need for unity and collective action to make a meaningful impact. AJR wants listeners to feel a sense of camaraderie and strength in numbers when standing up against the injustices in the world. However, it subsequently emerges that it wasn’t Kiichi who started the fire, but his brother, Shinji, who had returned to the Mitarai house to return Satsuki’s cardigan and ended up starting the fire by accident.

So, when Anzu comes and confesses her love for him, Kiichi happily agrees to move in with her. Thirteen years go by, but Anzu hasn’t forgotten how delighted Makiko looked when she (Anzu) spotted her in the crowd on that fateful day and has come to believe that the older woman is the arsonist. Satsuki has accepted the blame for the fire, but when the series begins, she has been diagnosed with amnesia and stays at a facility.

“Burn the House Down” has become an anthem for those seeking change and demanding justice. The song’s powerful lyrics and infectious sound have resonated with a wide audience. It has been featured in various films, commercials, and sporting events, further solidifying its place in popular culture. She reveals that she had pawned some of the things she stole from Satsuki but was planning to return the rest. She was smiling because she felt relief that the fire had completely wiped out the evidence of her crime.

The Finger Lakes region in New York is a popular destination wedding location for so many reasons. However, it can be challenging to find the right venue if you're not from there or you don't live there full time. Most of my couples live in major cities along the east coast and have sentimental ties to the area. I was working with a couple a few years ago and they loved the idea of having a wedding on the water in the Finger Lakes. But this couple, like many others, was planning a destination wedding to the Finger Lakes and most of their guests were traveling significantly to attend, so they all needed a place to stay.

Locals will remember the destination first opened in the 1970s, long home to the storied Sand Bar, a favorite spot for grabbing a hot dog or hamburger after a day on the water. Experience detailed and anticipatory wedding planning and event service at The Lake House, Canandaigua’s only lakefront luxury resort. 22 Ceiling Design Ideas to Make a Statement

ceiling design new

This living room ceiling idea is a new twist on the barrel-vault design. Light wood ceiling beams contrast the room's dark gray walls and rich blue floor. The gently bowed arches lend a protective, sheltered feeling to a room designed for informal gathering and relaxation. The term coffered ceiling often connotes a crisscross of heavy ornamental beams that create a grid of deep recesses in a lofty ceiling. But you can create a similar low living room ceiling idea with much less material and trouble by applying a grid of stock moldings to the ceiling. For added contrast, paint the moldings in a color or sheen that contrasts with the ceiling's planar surfaces.

Pick a Wallpaper That Tricks the Eye

Small white panels contrast the large, exposed wood beams framing the ceiling. With neutral whites, grays, and greens throughout the rest of the room, the ceiling beams immediately draw the eye. Even if you have a living room with a low ceiling, the right renovation can make it appear higher and make the room feel larger, such as painting it a lighter color. Whatever your home needs, these living room ceiling ideas can inspire you to refresh the room. Either way, this option suits rooms with high ceilings and is a valuable source of visual appeal and interest. Give metallic, black-colored, or rich-colored tiles a thought.

"We may still be looking at a period of time when the 1864 [ban] could potentially take effect," Mayes said in a statement. The law the conservative-leaning court ruled was enforceable makes abortion a felony punishable by two to five years in prison for anyone who performs one or helps a woman obtain one. The law was codified in 1901 — and again in 1913, after Arizona gained statehood — and outlaws abortion from the moment of conception but includes an exception to save the woman’s life. "It breaks my heart that you're here to witness this," said House Speaker Pro Tempore Travis Grantham, before casting a "no" vote. "I'm proud of my Republican caucus that has fought this off as long as it has," added Grantham, who accused Democrats of having used the issue as a political cudgel.

Organizers in the state are likely to succeed in placing a proposed constitutional amendment on the November ballot that would create a “fundamental right” to receive abortion care up until fetal viability, or about the 24th week of pregnancy. If voters approve the ballot measure, it would effectively undo the 1864 ban, which now remains law in the state. A successful repeal of the 1864 ban would likely result in state policy reverting to a 15-week ban on abortions that makes exceptions for medical emergencies but not for rape or incest.

Despite the continued repeal efforts, voters are likely to have the power this November to decide on the future of abortion rights in the state themselves. The law is set to go into effect as early as June 8, though Democratic Attorney General Kris Mayes has said her office is working to find ways to delay that date. The ban is likely to go into effect for a short period of time — even if the Senate passes it next week and Hobbs signs it shortly thereafter — because under Arizona law, repeals don't go into effect until 90 days after a legislative session concludes. Just last week, during the state House's prior session, Democrats in the chamber introduced a bill to repeal the 160-year-old abortion ban and filed a motion to Republican House leaders requesting an immediate vote.

"To see how this has been turned against one party and used as a weaponization of the issue is disgusting," he said. At the end of Wednesday's hearing, Grantham said the vote was an "awful, disgusting situation" and stripped Gress, as well as Democratic Assistant Minority Leader Oscar De Los Santos, of their committee assignments. The state House's vote to repeal came on the chamber's third attempt since the state Supreme Court ruled earlier this month to uphold the 160-year-old near-total ban.

Hermogeno and designer Lynette Chin brought in a mix of vintage and new furnishings in the family room, incorporating performance fabrics for durability. “[We made] sure that it was a really usable room, that it didn’t just look nice,” Hermogeno says. A palette of whites, deep blues, and gold creates an elegant atmosphere in the formal living room, which was designed by Rachel Duarte. The designer established two seating areas within the space, including a cozy gathering spot with chaise longues that flank the original carved marble fireplace.

“Our two main goals were to create a space that was comfortable and a little bit updated while also retaining that history and not touching or harming all the really cool features that were innate to the room and came with the house,” Meloche says. Wallpaper was added to the ceiling and the backs of the bookcases, and heavy wood blinds were replaced with soft draperies and Roman shades to make the space feel lighter. The firm used a mix of fabrics and wall coverings by Ralph Lauren Home from Designers Guild throughout the space.

Designers Frank Slesinski and Serena Brosio collaborated on the charming living room in the Gatehouse. “One of the main things we did was add a window seat, which looks like it should always have been here,” Slesinski says. “Not only does it provide a lot of additional seating for a very small space, but it has a lot of storage underneath.” The designers wrapped the room in a floral wall covering by Thibaut and installed a grass cloth on the ceiling to make the space feel cozier. “Our whole goal with this space was basically to turn the lights on in the room, bring in the garden that’s outside, and kind of have an experience of a breath of fresh air,” Brosio says. Cozy Stylish Chic Creative Director Jeanne K. Chung and designers Angela Lee and Caroline Meloche brightened the dark wood-paneled library to create a space where residents can unplug.

After several months of cleaning, the two enlisted their parents' help to get it down to the studs. "Imagine having a house back in the day and you could play music everywhere in it from a record player," he says. While cleaning out the home, they found some of the original furniture, old photos of what the house looked like before, and a record player that was hooked up to speakers all over the house. "It was a very eventful first weekend of just trying to maintain what the house looked liked and not letting it get worse," Phipps says. The first step was to put tarps all over the roof to ensure no more water or moisture entered the house.

Echoing one of the many grievances shared by hard-right Republicans who opposed all of the aid measures, Mr. Good said his support for “Israel’s right to defend itself remains unshakeable” but that he disagreed with a measure that would add to the nation’s debt. During a brief state House Rules committee hearing Wednesday, Republicans voted to advance three resolutions — without explaining what they were — that Democrats and abortion rights supporters said were likely the GOP-backed ballot measures. Members of the state Senate, where Republicans also hold a narrow majority, voted last week in favor of a motion to introduce a bill that would repeal the abortion ban. Twenty-five Republicans voted against the fourth bill, which included measures that could lead to a ban on TikTok in the United States and that would redirect funds from seized Russian assets to help aid Ukraine. Democrats put up a big vote — 174 — in favor of this bill, which was intended to sweeten the overall package for conservatives. The plan, laid out in a rule that passed on Friday, was concocted to capitalize on the pools of support for each part of the $95 billion package, while preventing opposition to any one piece from taking down all of them.
